Interesting Article of Community Giving Last Winter

Wade and Robbie Hobbs are using a property that they own to help others during Arkansas’ coldest months. The couple is using a former BancorpSouth Bank building, located at 808 N. Buerkle St., to serve as a shelter for Stuttgart residents that are facing homelessness or have inadequate utilities.

“My wife and I do this annually. We do this until the weather starts to change,” Wade said. “We both feel that God did not put us on this earth to live alone. We have to have neighbors. There is no doubt about that.”

The Hobbs’ shelter is open 24/7. Residents seeking warmth will also receive a meal and other assistance.
